Set up your first NiTip stream.

Create your profile, add your overlay to OBS, and connect your community with M-Pesa support.

Set up your creator account

    Create your creator profile

    Create your account and save your M-Pesa number in account settings. Complete the payment setup in your account to connect your payouts.

    Check your saved details

    Use 07…, 01… or +254… and double-check the number before saving. Follow the payment setup instructions shown in your account.

    Open your stream tools

    Your dashboard gives you one Widget URL for the live overlay, including its QR and alerts.

Show NiTip alerts in OBS

    Copy your Widget URL

    In your NiTip dashboard, open your overlay tools and copy the private Widget URL. Never show this URL on stream.

    Add a Browser source

    In OBS, select Sources, press +, choose Browser, and name it “NiTip Alerts.”

  3. 3

    Paste and place

    Paste the Widget URL. Match the Browser source width and height to your NiTip canvas, then position it inside your scene.

    Test before you go live

    Check both the QR and a test alert from your dashboard. Keep the NiTip Browser source above your gameplay or camera source so everything stays visible.

Share your support link live and on video

    For a livestream

    Do not add a separate QR source. The live QR and alerts both come through the same NiTip Browser source.

    Place the overlay

    Position that one Browser source where the QR stays readable and alerts have room to appear without covering the stream.

  3. 3

    For viewers on the same phone

    Share a clickable support link in your stream description or pinned message. Viewers can open the link without scanning a QR on another device.

    For a recorded video

    Create a video support link in NiTip and connect the matching published YouTube video. Add its clickable link to the video description. Include a QR when preparing a new video, then check that tips appear against the correct link.

Payments, fees & payouts

    Connect your payments

    Complete the payment setup shown in your account and check your payout details before sharing your support link. Your account shows your payment status and payout details in one place.

    Understand your fees

    The Free plan lets you keep 95% of every successful M-Pesa tip. One 5% fee includes NiTip and payment processing, deducted before payout. For example, a KES 1,000 M-Pesa tip leaves you KES 950 after the fee.

    Track your payouts

    Manage your payout details and check payment and payout status in your NiTip account. Contact support@nitip.africa if you need help with a payout. A successful tip confirmation does not mean the payout has already reached your account.

    If a payment is pending or fails

    Check its status before trying again. Completing the M-Pesa prompt and confirming a payment are separate steps. If the status is unclear, contact support@nitip.africa with the transaction reference; never send your M-Pesa PIN.
